How To Make Cheddar Cheese Crisp!
Add some excitement and texture to some soup, salads or a sandwich with a cheddar cheese crisp.
Ingredients:
4 oz medium cheddar cheese, grated
Tools needed:
3 Inch biscuit cutter
Sheet pan
Parchment paper
How to make it:
Using a ring like a biscuit cutter will give you nice and presentable round cheese crisps.
Get a piece of parchment paper and lay it on your sheet pan. Using the biscuit cutter, place the cutter on the piece of parchment and lay in a single layer of cheese inside the cutter. Basically, it acts as a mold for the cheese. Make sure to place each cheese disk about 2 inches from one another as the cheese spreads out as it melts.
Black pepper on the cheese adds a nice flavor to the cheese.
Use the biscuit mold for laying cheese in a single layer as shown above. A 3 inch biscuit cutter works great. I typically go with cheese crisp that weigh .5 oz each. For the 4 oz that this recipe says, it will make 8 cheese crisps. Once the cheese is all laid out, season the top with some freshly cracked black pepper.
Bake 425 F for 5-7 minutes. Keep an eye on the cheese as it goes from melted to browned to burnt rather quickly. Once the cheese is starting brown around the edges and center, remove the cheese from the oven and allow to cool at room temperature for about 20 minutes before serving. This goes great with potato soup, on a sandwich or on a salad.
Enjoy!
