How To Make Baked Asparagus
I love to bake asparagus instead of blanching. Baking really keeps the natural flavor more prominent in the asparagus, plus it's easy to do. 30 minutes in the oven is all it takes! Added flavor with lemon and some herbs.
Ingredients:
12 asparagus spears
1 lemon
3 bay leaves
1 sprig fresh thyme
1 tbsp oil
2 tsp ea salt and pepper
Tools needed:
Sharp knife
Cutting board
Baking dish, glass
Oven
How to make it:
Wash asparagus under cold running water. Cut off woody ends (about 1-1/2 off end). Place asparagus in baking dish and drizzle oil, season with salt and pepper. Gently toss asparagus to evenly coat with the oil and seasoning. Slice both lemons into 5 slices each, keeping the lemon circular in shape. Top asparagus with bay leaves, thyme and lemon on top. Bake 375 for 30-35 minutes. You can bake longer if you want the asparagus done more. Pairs well with baked chicken and salmon.
Enjoy!
