Easy Pearl Couscous Recipe

cooked pearl couscous on a plate

Ingredients:

1-1/2 c water

1 c pearl couscous, uncooked

1 tsp salt

1 stem rosemary

Cracked black pepper

1 tbsp unsalted butter

Tools needed:

4 qt stock pot with lid

Measuring cup

Measuring spoon

How to make it:

Bring water to a boil.   Lightly salt water and add couscous, pepper, rosemary stem and 1 tbsp unsalted butter.  Reduce heat to low, cover stock pot with a lid and simmer couscous for 8-10 minutes stirring occasionally.  After minute 8, I taste the couscous to check doneness and continue on low heat with lid on pot if more time is needed.  You can add a few tbsp water if needed if it has all been evaporated. Couscous is done when it is al dente and the water has been completely absorbed by the couscous (like cooking rice).

Great as a base for pasta salad, a side for fish and chicken. Goes great in soups also.

Enjoy
