3 Ingredient Cheddar Biscuits
Ingredients:
2 c self rising flour, plus 1/2 c ap flour for kneading purposes
1-1/4 to 1-1/2 c whole milk
1 c shredded mild cheddar cheese
***Optional 3 tbsp melted butter, unsalted and 1 tbsp kosher salt for sprinkling on top
Tools Needed:
Sheet pan
Parchment paper
Mixing bowl
Cheese grater
Measuring cups
Oven
Bench scraper
Bowl for melting butter
Pastry brush
How to make it:
Measure out your flour, milk and grate the cheese. Mix milk with flour. Start with less milk and add more if needed to get a nicely formed dough. Toss in grated cheese and fold in to the dough. Once a rough dough forms, lightly flour your work table surface. Knead dough for 2 minute to develop the gluten and to mix in the cheese all of the way. This makes 8 good sized biscuits. Try to cut the pieces into equal sizes. Roll in your hand cupping it while keeping full contact with the table at all times to form into a nicely shaped dough ball. Repeat for each of the biscuit dough balls.
Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Place dough balls onto the pan about 2 inches from each other. Gently flatten out the balls with your hand. Brush top of biscuit with melted butter and kosher salt if desired.
Bake 350 for 20 minutes. Keep an eye on them. Your looking for browning on top and for them to be cooked all the way through.
Easy to make and even easier to enjoy!
