Simple Cherry Chipotle BBQ Sauce, Step By Step Begginer’s Guide!
Ingredients:
30 cherries, fresh or frozen
1 c ketchup
7 oz can Chipotle peppers plus Adobe sauce
1 c apple cider vinegar
1/4 c sugar in the raw
2 tsp paprika
2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp kosher salt
1 tsp black pepper, freshly cracked
1 tbsp molasses
4 cloves garlic, rough chopped
1 lime juiced and zested
Tools needed:
Cutting board
Sharp knife
Small stock pot
Measuring cups and spoons
Fine mesh strainer
Mixing bowl
Immersion blender or blender
Small ladle
Mason jar with lid for storage
How to make it:
Wash and cut cherries in half and remove the pit if using fresh cherries.
Add the cherries, vinegar and chopped garlic to the stock pot. Bring vinegar to a simmer and continue to simmer for 10 minutes until cherries are soft.
Once cherries are soft, add the rest of the ingredients and bring back to a simmer. Simmer sauce for 30-40 minutes.
If using an immersion blender, blend the sauce until all broken down. If using a blender, allow sauce to cool slightly before blending.
Pour blended sauce into the fine mesh strainer placed over a bowl. Lightly press the sauce through the fine mesh strainer using the small ladle.
Allow sauce to cool and pour into a mason jar or other glass storage container.
Use within 2 weeks, keep stored in the refrigerator.
Enjoy!
