Spicy Smoked Almonds That Are ADDICTIVE!
These almonds are deliciously addictive with a nice hint of spice to them. I love the smokiness they have and the crunchy, snappy texture.
Ingredients:
9 oz raw almond
2 tsp seasoned salt, here’s my recipe
1 tbsp hot sauce (I used my homemade fire roasted habanero hot sauce)
Tools needed:
Mixing bowl
Measuring spoons
Perforated sheet pan
Smoker (I use my offer smoker)
1 lb lump charcoal
2 splits oak or hickory
How to make it:
Warm up smoker and hold at 225-250 for.
Grab a mixing bowl and add the almonds, seasoned salt and hot sauce. Mix thoroughly to combine ingredients. Place almonds onto the perforated sheet pan.
Place almonds on the smoker in the middle of the grate. Be sure not to place too close to the fire box if you’re using an offset smoker. Smoke for 1 to 1-1/2 hours. The almonds are to be cooked and the sauce will be lightly caramelized.
Remove the almonds from the smoker and place on your countertop to cool. Once cooled, keep in an airtight container like a mason jar with tight fitting lid.
Great as a snack by themselves, on a salad or crushed up and used as a crust for fish.
Enjoy!
